More about Benedetta Brachetti Peretti
Benedetta Brachetti Peretti – a designer and businesswoman, the heir of an ancient family of the Marches – has been experimenting with several materials in the past few years, especially blown glass, ceramic and bronze, therefore becoming one of the most renowned figures in the world of the Italian savoir-faire.
The new collection, created specifically for Liquid Art System, presents a series of precious coco de mer (sea coconuts) of various sizes, including nature, glossy black, transparent and multicoloured pop variants, and materializes Benedetta's desire to produce objects that find their reason for being in the beauty of their form even before their daily function.
A symbol of love and desire, of supreme femininity, the coco de mer – around which the collection revolves – represents the almost miraculous exuberance with which Nature reproduces itself, a Nature that must be respected and protected, especially considering that the palm from which it comes, the Lodoicea maldivica, is at risk of extinction
The coco de mer was considered a legendary seed, the fruit of underwater trees, renowned for its aphrodisiac properties, intended for kings and queens, a coveted object of which only a select few could boast.
