Liquid art system is proud to announce Nuotando nell’aria , Willy Verginer solo show in our gallery in Positano (Via dei Mulini 26), opening on August 3rd. The exhibition will showcase the very latest production by the artist, combining bronze and wooden sculptures. We would be glad to give you our warmest welcome in the gallery for the opening, that will be at 7pm at the presence of the artist himself, and enjoy an aperitif together.

It is impossible to talk about the artworks by Willy Verginer (1957) without mentioning Ortisei, a city in Trentino-Alto Adige surrounded by the Dolomites. Here, an ancient woodworking tradition has pushed many artists to measure themselves with their skills and interpretations. There are those, like Willy Verginer, who have found the inspiration to create a new language, which would transmit the love for one’s roots with an eye to the contemporary and all its criticalities.

In Nuotando nell’aria there are sculptures dedicated to two of the artist’s most cherished themes: Ecology and Rayuela, from the homonymous novel by the writer Julio Cortázar.
If in the former the research for a link, often surreal, between nature, man, pollution and the problems connected to the post-industrial economy is emblematic, in the latter the power of thought stands out, figures immersed in their own moments with stories to be discovered, experiences and moments as if they had just come out of a novel. In Spanish, Rayuela is essentially a game. A game made up of small obstacles, jumps, just like everyday life. And in fact what these two strands of works in bronze and lime wood have in common is the concept: the symbolic value, also dictated and above all by the presence of color or gold leaf, which forcefully take possession of the viewer’s gaze, shifting attention to hidden and complex meanings, which must be investigated and contemplated. “I want those who look at my works to feel free, and think for themselves”.
