Viaggio al centro della terra

Michelangelo Bastiani at Villa Lysis
Liquid art system is glad to present “Viaggio al centro della terra”, a video installation of the artist Michelangelo Bastiani.
The event will be on the 15th of August at Villa Lysis, a wonderful villa in Capri famous for its history and its beautiful architecture.
The work is interactive: this means that, thanks to particular sensors, it will respond to the movement of the spectator, invited to interact with it.
The comparison between artifice and nature is a central theme in the history of art: painters, sculptors and architects over the centuries have recreated the world through the lenses of their works, Michelangelo Bastiani accepts this challenge by regenerating natural phenomena through the latest devices digital. A futuristic art process that combines multimedia and real objects, where the work becomes a place of interactive cultural animation, defining a stronger interpersonal relationship between the spectator and contemporary artistic production.
Bastiani’s works are video installations on large screens, interactive video projections and holograms, with particular attention to the elements of nature and the state of matter.
Water has been the key to his research since the beginning, with the aim of representing an art in constant evolution. As Heraclitus, one of the fathers of ancient Greek philosophy, stated: “No man can bathe in the same river twice, because neither man nor the waters of the river are the same.” Because of its dynamic nature, water has always been difficult to represent.
Bastiani is able to face this difficulty through a tangible interaction technology, which communicates directly with the viewer. : his digital waterfall will never maintain a constant flow, but will change according to the viewer’s movement, as part of the kinetic process of the work. Nature merges with artifice.
Well-known internationally, the artists represented by the Liquid art system span the various genres of contemporary art: painting, sculpture, photography, video, and mixed media. Each has his own style, but together they share the search for beauty, color, and visibility.
